The basic idea from the architects for the planning of the water park "aquabasilea" represents an outline of the map of Switzerland, which also includes the cross of the Swiss national flag in the middle of the building.
This idea is a bit of "deformed" geometry, emerged from the original building with parts of a cone-shaped roof with slopes of 5 to 33 and the unequal length of 21.75 m to 77.30 meters or 71'x253'.
In the middle of the building, the different segments of roof come together in a ring at the top, supported by 4 logs anchored to the ground.
This component is central to the design and structure of the roof with an internal diameter of 8.60 meters.
He is currently the largest ring made of wood from around the world.
It is planned to equip the opening of the ring at the future of a rotating mirror to direct sunlight inside the building.
Height of ring: 18.85 Meter
Area: approx. 6500 m2
Volume: approx. 1.200m3
Column log: 750/900mm
