Beautiful wooden building in Romania

This fabulous building is the result of the excellent work by the company Tig-Rad System Ltd. from Harghita in Romania. This brand new structure manufactured and raised during the autumn 2014 is the extraordinary administrative building of the Adventure Park on Feleac hill near Cluj Napoca in Romania.

The complete structure is composed by more than 3400 beams with a total of almost 50m3 of timber. Except for the curved purlins which are made in glulam and represent only 3m3, all parts are traditionally manufactured in massive spruce. 14 massive posts with a diameter of 30cm hold the curved purlins on the inner side.

The height of the main part is approx. 9m and the length of the building 26m. The plan view shows a S-shaped geometry with a width of 8.5m. The outer radius is more than 10m, while the inner radius shows 2.5m.

The complete roof covers more than 400m2 and is entirely covered with more than 9000 wooden tiles.

Unfortunately such beautiful art work has become rare nowadays. We congratulate our client Tig-Rad System Ltd. for this excellent work! More pictures here :
